In 2004 we set about building our own unique case management system to track all client instructions, from cradle to grave.
The system, called Assetline, was developed in-house over a three year period; utilised solely for internal purposes to begin with as we set about our organic growth journey from an original company staff headcount of 24 at one single site to a developing UK network of over 20 sites and more than 300 staff. Initially, we wanted to gain a quicker and clearer understanding of case activity for clients as we started to manage more instructions and move towards a paperless office.
As the business growth accelerated we developed Assetline further to provide secure web client account log in, with tiered access for clients from senior management to daily granular staff operations and Assetline v2.0 was born, showing clients instruction activity and progress in real time, as well as running costs and auction sales.
Assetline began its development and delivery to the UK insolvency sector, logging over 30,000 insolvency instructions per annum, on behalf of both the UK Government Insolvency Service’s Official Receivers in Bankruptcy through to Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners.
Due to the unique nature of its innovative in-house development, rather than an off-the-shelf third party programme, John Pye Auctions are able to mould Assetline and its client reporting features to key client’s bespoke requirements and this has been done for a number of national and international clients.
Each client can access a range of key case details from initial appraisals and valuations through to asset registers, stock manifests, ongoing disbursements, marketing activities and auction sales revenue achieved.
Assetline also data mines over 650 John Pye Auctions online sales a year of over 650,000 lots equating to more than 2m items per annum – no other UK auction house manages as many auction sales across such a wide portfolio of assets and stock, meaning we offer the most solid barometer of secondary market auction sales data, underpinning all our appraisals and valuations.
For example, our Assetline system secured John Pye Auctions’ Phones4U Administration instruction with PWC after John Pye Auctions were asked to provide a secondary appraisal opinion on a proportion of digital stock holding, which subsequently led to a year’s worth of auctions of Phones4U liquidation stock.
For example, Assetline has been a key element of our Central Government contract delivery of appraisals, valuations, site clearances, storage and auction sales for both the Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs and the Department of Transport’s Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
