We’ve listened to your queries and answered your questions about our general vehicle auctions and as a result of 11th June 2018, we’re introducing a new sales programme and buyers fee structure for our general vehicle auctions. Our ‘General Vehicle Auction’ is defined as company fleet, dealer and privately entered vehicles and excludes any seized vehicles.
You may find the below FAQs useful:
We can’t view vehicles before we bid:
All our vehicles can be viewed during a sale and we’ve extended viewing at Port Talbot to include an evening viewing. The viewing window has also been extended at Nottingham on Wednesdays. Please see our auction calendar for full details of the new viewing hours at each auction hub.
Why do sales finish whilst viewing is in progress? (Marchington and Edinburgh)
We’ve extended our Monday sale time to conclude on Tuesdays 1.00pm, allowing you a more considered buying experience. Sales will still go live on a Friday afternoon giving bidders 3 full days to view, bid and buy.
I’d like to sell my car but don’t know what its worth at auction
We’re launching a new vehicle valuation calculator on our website, expecting to be released in the coming months. The calculator will be fully supported by our vehicles team who can talk you through consignment (locations, fees, valuations, and process).
Your buyers fees are too expensive:
From the 11th June we have re-aligned our Buyers Fees. They are consistently the most competitive advertised rates in the open vehicle auction environment and are set at:
General Vehicle auctions – 20% to £1,800 and then capped at £360 (+VAT)
Prestige Vehicle Auctions – 20% to £2,750 and then capped at £550 (+VAT)
Our prestige vehicle auctions will host some fantastic products from executive cars to motorhomes, classic and historical vehicles to include motorcycles. Entries will benefit from richer lot descriptions, supported by extended viewing and sale times, allowing bidders a more considered purchasing process. With the new capped buyers fee buying a prestigious vehicle is now a real option for many customers. Sales will take place fortnightly and will conclude on Tuesdays at 12.00noon.
Why do we have to pay and collect them so quickly after the end of a sale?
Our regular customers are aware of the space constraints at our very busy vehicle sites. We operate under very tight Service Level Agreements with vendors regarding the settlement. However, if you have a specific request regarding a collection extension (not payment) and discuss this with us beforehand, we can work with you to look at an ad-hoc arrangement to support you. If you do not enter dialogue at the appropriate time, we will enforce our storage terms which are laid out in our terms and conditions of sale.
When do the new sales programme and buyers fee structure come into effect?
Monday 11th June 2018
