Electrical Overview

John Pye Auctions manages over 2,000 trailers of electrical retail products for many of the UK’s biggest retailers, providing a UK network of facilities across England, Scotland and Wales.

This department begun with the trial instruction of 26 CRT TVs in 2003 and has since grown organically into the UK’s largest weekly electrical retail goods auction offering, with surplus volumes spread over 10 auctions per week.

Retailers instruct John Pye Auctions to manage a mix of electrical product categories and conditions, ranging across:

  • Accessories
  • Small domestic appliances
  • Audio & Visual
  • Computing
  • Large Domestic Appliances / White Goods

These electrical products are deemed surplus based on the following circumstances and/or conditions:

  • Packaging damage
  • Cosmetic damage
  • Minor Faults
  • Seasonal end-of-line clearance
  • Insurance write-off
  • Beyond Economic Repair
  • Material faults

John Pye Auctions holds a range of retail surplus stock auctions each week, with auctions categorised by either clearance or raw returns, offering consumers and trade buyers the opportunity to view, bid & buy all elements of stock holdings, either for end user secondary market or trade spares and repairs refurbishment.

We have helped our clients reduce their waste and significantly increase their value of realisations by managing such surplus stock holdings to secondary market placement, moving such stock through online auction and diluting volumes mostly on unit-for-unit, lot-for-lot basis.

Our UK salerooms are fully equipped with tens of thousands of electrical power points and ariel sockets to facilitate salesroom viewings of electrical audio visual products to show such products in their working state.

Furthermore, John Pye Auctions operates a Data Wiping Hub for retail clients to screen and safeguard any electrical data devices to Blancco standards.
