John Pye Luxury Assets were asked to dispose of a collection of 1,300 loose cut and polished diamonds and a quantity of assorted melee, diamond ‘chips’ with weights ranging from 1.56ct to 0.001cts, on behalf of one of our key clients.
The consignment, with a total order value of £300,000, was showcased and sold over four auctions in November and December 2015. Single items and melee lots with a value in excess of £200 were placed in auctions held at our Mayfair showroom, and the lower value items were showcased and sold through auction at our Marchington auction hub.
After the auctions concluded, the remaining unsold items were sold to a trade buyer by private treaty sale as a grouped lot, brokered by our department head.
Since the sale of this collection John Pye Luxury Assets have offered more than 1,500 lots of loose diamonds at auction, and they are a regular feature in auctions in both London and the West Midlands.
