John Lewis Stores Clearances Overview

Since being John Lewis’ appointed auctioneers from 2006, John Pye Auctions partnership grew with the UK department store chain in 2012 when we were appointed to manage the Partnership’s UK store seasonal clearance stock lines.

Having initiated and delivered a successful transition from live traditional auction to online timed auctions between 2009 and 2012 we were able to demonstrate and deliver industry leading auction realisations for the John Lewis Partnership.

Furthermore, in 2012 we acquired the UK’s biggest indoor auction facility for general goods when we opened our 11 acre West Midlands Hub at Marchington, Staffs, to support this substantial UK stock clearance programme and to aid John Pye Auctions’ ongoing growth and expansion.

The site has grown from a single 30,000 sq. ft. saleroom to encompass eight salerooms on-site, totalling 180,000 sq. ft. of secure indoor saleroom space. Furthermore, as this client account project has grown over the years we have expnaded our network to support the client, as well as other key retailers.

Goods sourced from John Lewis department stores are now spread and offered to auction across five John Pye Auction hubs covering Scotland, England and Wales, ensuring a suitable spread of stock volume across many regions to ensure markets are not flooded, realisations are optimised whilst also providing consistent stock auction management.
