In 2012 John Pye Auctions successfully tendered for the UK Central Government Home Office Disposal of Police and other public organisations’ items by auction.

The framework agreement established John Pye Auctions as an approved Home Office auction supplier for every Police Authority, Ambulance and Fire Brigade service UK wide for surplus vehicle assets to auction, namely:

  • Motorcycles
  • Scooters
  • Minbuses
  • 4x4s
  • Utility support vehicles
  • Rolling plant
  • Marine vessels

All UK police, ambulance, fire brigade and other Government support service fleet managers instruct John Pye Auctions Vehicles department to appraise, value, transport, relocated, store, market and sell their surplus vehicle assets by auction, utilising our UK network of more than 20 site across England, Scotland and Wales, spanning over 1m sq. ft. of secure vehicle storage.

Our contractual services include full vehicle auction preparation services; from initial HPi checks and de-branding of emergency services livery to condition checks and full vehicle valet before being presented to the UK and international secondary market by timed online auction.

These Government vehicles constitute a small prportion of the 16,500 plus vehicles which John Pye Auctions manage, market and sell into the secondary market annually.

These emergency services and Government support services vehicle auctions are held mostly at our West Midlands Hub in Marchington, Staffs, and offer a range of assets for auction. Buyers often export emergency service vehicles to Africa and other international territories, with John Pye Auctions capturing full auction buyer post sale audit detail.
