John Pye & Sons were approached by a consortium of City of London Metal Traders & Financiers to conduct a site assessment of a Spanish plant breakers yard for an asset acquisition.

The plant, haulage and machinery breaker’s yard is the biggest in Europe, covering 43 acres and containing thousands of surplus and insurance write off assets including heavy contractors plant, tractors, trucks, coaches and commercial vehicles.

No asset register was supplied so we had to conduct a full site assessment within 48 hours, grid mapping and referencing the 43 acres of asset holdings by sections, rows and individual units. Comprehensive video and photo intelligence was undertaken to produce a detailed and illustrative site appraisal report. This report listed over 7,000 assets for the client, along with asset auction projections, all produced within 3 weeks of the site visit.
