High-end branded road bikes, mountain bikes, cycling equipment and accessories from failed Derby cycle centre, Park Bikeworks, were managed to the secondary market by John Pye Business Assets on behalf of an insolvency client.
Derby’s Park Bikeworks retail store was launched in 2014 and was originally funded with the help of £490,000 of a Government grant allocated to Derby City Council so it could encourage more environmentally-friendly transport.
The site included free bike parking spaces, showers, changing rooms, an accessories shop and repairs service. There was also a café, physiotherapy service and bike-fitting.
But within two years the business ceased trading and was put into adminisration and subsequent liquidation, with all the stock marketed and sold off by John Pye Auctions through a series of online auctions.
Lots included some road bikes designed and manufactured by the biggest names in cycling such as Moda, Kona, Bobbins and Saracen. as well as cycling parts, accessories and equipment from makers including Bluegrass Helmets, Dare2b Clothing, and SIS Sports Nutrition supplements.
John Pye Business Assets department targeted UK British Cycling affiliated clubs across the UK, as well as engaging our database of over 250,000 registered bidders and held a series of online auctions in our premium Luxury Assets saleroom at our West Midlands Auction Hub at Marchington, Staffs.
The auctions were hugely popular and attracted end user cyclist consumers from across the UK, generating key recoveries for creditors.
