Our business started from a small acorn, planted by company founder John Pye, who began trading with a horse and cart in 1968, undertaking the smaller probate property clearances in Nottingham that other established Auctioneers weren’t interested in.
From these humble beginnings John Pye worked hard to grow the business and water its roots with infectious enthusiasm for Auctioneering and client service, cemented by initiative and resourcefulness, extracting value from all manner of challenging instructions. This early company ethos of resourcefulness remains rooted in everything we do to this day.
As a long standing family business we also benefit from an established senior management structure, underpinned by generational auction industry knowledge, supported by a clear vision of the long game, with no external shareholders to have to satisfy.
This personable ethos is at the heart of John Pye Auctions organic growth, which has seen our auction network branches spread from one site to over 20, across regions, industries and multiple markets.
We believe we are only as good as our last auction; our continual aim is to create the most accessible and varied auctions, presenting these to wider audiences for every new offering to sustain benchmark recoveries for our clients to add greater value to their business operations and bottom line.
