Community groups can benefit from an effective web site to communicate with existing members and recruit new ones.Here's an example
Take a look at Stamford Choral Society's website . It's been in operation for less than a year but it is:
- Regularly visited by people new to the area, who enquire about membership.
- Used to inform potential members of the society's activities
- Used to provide information to members

Members of local groups now expect to be able to find information about their organisation on the web, but many groups still don't have an effective web site.
Worries about costs and lack of specialist information can prevent groups from developing a web site, but it's possible to build a site that is virtually self-funding.
