It makes sense to build a web site that is accessible to all potential users, and one which is easily indexed by search engines.
Your web site visitors may include people who don't have perfect eyesight, or who are not using the latest computer with a fast broadband connection. With a little attention to detail, your website can be accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. It will also be faster to load, more reliable and better indexed by search engines.
Guidelines on accessibility have been established by the Web Accessibility
Initiative (WAI) and adopted as authoritative in European and UK
legislation. It is illegal to discriminate against disabled people under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and this has applied to services provided via web sites since October 1999.
All my web site designs comply with the minimum requirements and I can design higher levels of accessibility when appropriate.

I can provide advice on accessibility issues, and carry out accessibility audits on existing sites. For more information on web site accessibility, please contact me .
